Barbara Parker (1947 - 2009) was the author of a series of legal thrillers set in Miami. Parker graduated from the University of Miami law school in 1977, which helped her along her writing path. Before Parker's law degree she studied theater at the University of South Florida at Tampa. The South Florida Sun Sentinel wrote an obituary about Parker and her life.
