Kitty Oliver is a native Floridian and was born in Jacksonville. Oliver attended the University of Florida and received her MFA at Florida International University. Oliver spent part of her career writing for the Miami Herald as well as other South Florida newspapers. Oliver has authored books about race and diversity. She is also involved in the Race and Change Oral History Project. Oliver is a sought after public speaker.
