Martha Serpas grew up in Galliano, Louisiana, and received her BA from Louisiana State University. She has taught at Yale Divinity School, the University of Houston, and the University of Tampa, where she is currently an associate professor of English. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, the New York Times Book Review, Southwest Review, and in the Library of America’s anthology American Religious Poems.
