Michael Connelly (1956-) is a prolific author of crime and mystery fiction. He is a great admirer of Raymond Chandler's writing style and this influence is apparent in his novels. Connelly attended the University of Florida. He majored in journalism and minored in creative writing. His most famous character is Hieronymous (Harry) Bosch. He worked as a newspaper reporter for the Ft. Lauderdale Sun Sentinel focusing on crime for several years before writing his first Bosch novel. He lives in Tampa, Florida.
