Wes Singletary is a Tampa native and a graduate of Florida State University, earning a doctorate in United States History. All his work has focused on Florida, whether it be the Al Lopez biography, or a collection of oral histories that was published in Florida's First Big League Baseball Players. He has recently had two articles published in Cigar City Magazine, one on Tampa's Inter-Social League, the other on Florida State Football. Singletary's latest book on Pop Lloyd focuses on Florida's greatest native born baseball player, as well as providing a snapshot of blackball during Lloyd's era.
